The thinking behind SKUantify
Most inventory tools let you type over a quantity. That single decision is why stock numbers stop being trusted: once a figure can be edited, nobody can say how it got there, and the argument about whether the shelf or the screen is wrong has no evidence on either side.
SKUantify never overwrites a quantity. Stock levels are derived from a permanent record of every movement — received, sold, adjusted, transferred, counted — and a mistake is corrected by recording the correction, so the history stays true. It is the difference between a number and an account of a number.
We built it because we kept meeting businesses whose stock figures were a matter of opinion, and because it is the kind of problem that rewards getting the foundations right rather than adding features.
